Vamvyra

Vamvyra are members of Kroeven society that have undergone a powerful ritual to become immortal. Vamvyra are considered nobles within Kroeven society, regardless of what socioeconomic level they were part of before going through the ritual. People who have raised to this level are blessed with stronger magical abilities, greater physical strength, and the ability to go without eating, drinking, and sleeping for extended periods of time. However, Vamvyra must maintain their physical form by consuming the blood of the mortals they lord over. Those in Kroeven society see this as an honor, and donate their blood willingly. It is unheard of for a mortal to perish during this event, although outsiders believe that it is incredibly dangerous.

The presence of Vamvyra is what led the Aurilore to eradicate all Kroeven from Zyrkthraan. They saw these individuals as a threat to them because of their need to consume mortal blood. In the modern age, there are no longer any Vamvyra or any mortals who know how to perform the ritual to become one.
