Bloatmire Fever

Bloatmire Fever is a terminal illness that can be contracted from consuming polluted waters. The disease persists even if the water is boiled, making it an especially difficult subject to cleanse. Water that is to be consumed, either by drinking or using in dishes, should be alchemically cleansed beforehand to eliminate the disease.

Bloatmire Fever causes an afflicted person to bloat beyond their size in a very short time period, with most reaching their final size in a week or less. The afflicted will also develop painful boils that, when broken, will release acidic pus that creates light burns. While the disease is lethal, individuals may prolong their life by draining the boils and reducing the amount of pus present.
