Deity:Rhadn
Rhadn is an Aetherial associated with the concept of justice. He urges his followers to evaluate each situation to the fullest extent and to only pass judgement once all the facts have been determined.
Branches of Faith
There are many different groups that engage in the worship of Rhadn. Each one has unique ways of serving him, although the primary element of justice is always upheld.
Judicants of Rhadn
Traditional
Perhaps the most populous division of Rhadn worship, the Judicants of Rhadn exist in many different lands and all dedicate themselves to upholding justice. Typically, they will gather in small groups within cities, towns, and villages and serve as mediators for any accused criminals. While they do not take on the role of defense for any given suspect, they do tend to go out of their way to reveal the truth behind the matter in question in order to fully prove or disprove someone's guilt. They are traditionally welcomed by most cultures, although there are some that do not appreciate them working to unveil the truth and ensure justice is done.
Caeluvex
The judicants that served Rhadn during the time when the Caeluvex worshiped Rhadn were different from traditional judicants in many ways. Instead of serving as mediators for those accused of crimes, they spent most of their time keeping track of different types of paperwork. They were known to curate the religious texts and maintain collections of historical documents, working more as scribes and monks than a traditional judicant.
Karotalo
In Ethonian cultures, Rhadn is known as Karotalo. Worship involves regular prayer as well as an oath of pacifism, meaning that they are not permitted to harm other people. Many take their dedication to Rhadn even more seriously, even going so far as to not hunt animals for food and instead farm them. By their logic, it is better to raise the animals to later eat than it is to hunt them, as hunting them creates unnecessary suffering that caring for them does not. As for the oath of pacifism, Ethonians believe that any breach of the oath will result in Rhadn smiting them himself. Anyone who breaks their oath but maintains their dedication to Rhadn will adopt a vulnerable pose where the crime was committed and stay there to await their divine punishment. They believe that Rhadn will eventually punish everyone for any violence committed, following the scripture that he wiped out all of the ancient Zyrkari for their ceaseless violence.
Culinary Fringe
Aside from the more standard methods of worship, Rhadn is unique in having a small fringe group that worships him through food offerings. It is believed that this branch started after one man prayed to Rhadn for help, promising to leave him an offering of whatever he wished for the most in exchange for his aid. Supposedly, Rhadn responded to the man by giving him a vision of the assembly of a meal that had never been seen before. The man then prepared the meal, which consisted of a thin circle of unleavened bread warmed in the oil leftover from cooking ground pork sausage and then topped with the sausage, chopped onions, cilantro, pineapple chunks, a squirt of lime juice, and finished off with a specially crafted salsa. It is said that the offering was so well received, that the man and his entire family were blessed for years to come. Afterwards, he founded a new organization for worshiping Rhadn by leaving offerings of these delicious meals at his temples and shrines.
